Wedding stage decoration
The stage is where every photo begins.
At a Pakistani wedding the stage is the centre of gravity. Guests queue to greet the couple there, families gather there for photographs, and almost every picture you keep for the rest of your life will have it in the background. That is why we design the stage first and build the rest of the room around it, rather than treating it as one item on a list or an afterthought once the hall is booked.
Each function asks for a different stage. A barat stage is usually the grandest: a regal couple sofa, layered backdrops, crystal chandeliers and deep reds or ivory. A walima stage tends to be lighter, with white florals, softer lighting and a more open feel. A mehndi stage might be a floral jhoola or a low takht with cushions, while a nikkah setup is often a quieter, intimate arrangement for the ceremony itself. We design each one on its own terms.
Indoor halls and outdoor lawns need different thinking. Inside, ceiling height, existing lights and hall rules set the limits, so we work with layered backdrops and focused stage lighting. Outdoors, we plan for wind, uneven ground and night lighting, and give the stage a strong silhouette that reads from across the lawn. In both cases we check photo angles from the guest side and the photographer's side before anything is built.

Loved by families across Pakistan
In our clients' own words.
“A tremendous thank you team OT for executing our Walima on 8th of March 2021. You and your staff were highly organized and effectively delivered on a very tight (and shrinking) timeline, all the while maintaining your cool and focus. Everything was precisely delivered to plan: the floor plan, flow, linens, flowers, and set up. You and your team executed beyond our expectations.”
Good to know
Stage decoration questions, answered.
What is the difference between a barat stage and a walima stage?
A barat stage is usually the most dramatic of the wedding: rich colours like red, maroon or gold, a regal couple sofa, chandeliers and dense florals. A walima stage is typically softer and more elegant, with whites, pastels and lighter backdrops. Many couples choose contrasting looks so the two days feel genuinely different in photos.
Can you decorate a wedding stage outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor stages on lawns and farmhouses need a sturdy base, weighted backdrops that can handle wind, and careful lighting because the stage must stand out against a dark sky. We also plan cable routes and backup power so the stage stays lit throughout the evening, whatever the weather does.
How long does it take to set up a wedding stage?
It depends on the design and venue. A standard hall stage can often be installed in a few hours, while larger custom stages with chandeliers, floral walls or hand-painted elements may need most of the day. We agree setup and removal times with the venue in advance so nothing is rushed.
Can you recreate a stage design I saw on Instagram or Pinterest?
Yes, reference images are a great starting point. We will look at what you love about the design, then adapt it to your venue's size, ceiling height and lighting, and to your palette. Often the best result is something inspired by the reference but built properly for your own space.
Do you design stages for small home functions too?
Certainly. Dholkis, mayuns, small nikkahs and mangnis at home still deserve a proper focal point. We design compact stages, floral backdrops and seating arrangements that fit living rooms, courtyards and lawns, without overwhelming the space or getting in the way of guests.
